Indian-Origin American Claims Detention After Returning From Greenland Holiday

Neal Bakshi is an American citizen who says border officers stopped him after a trip to Greenland.

He said he was using Global Entry but was still taken aside for more questions.

Officers reportedly asked him for a lot of personal information.

Bakshi also said they asked about groups he might be connected to.

He described the waiting room as uncomfortable and said many people there were people of color.

He also said he saw an officer speak harshly to an elderly Hispanic woman who did not speak English.

Bakshi believes some groups may face more questioning than others.

Government officials say stronger border checks are meant to improve security and reduce illegal immigration.
