Telangana Auto Unions Announce Indefinite Strike Over Demands

Autorickshaw unions in Telangana plan to stop working indefinitely from August 23.

They say government policies have made it difficult for drivers to earn enough money.

The unions want a special welfare board for drivers and other private transport workers.

They are also asking for promised annual payments of Rs 12,000, including money that has not yet been paid.

They want the government to continue a Rs 5 lakh accident insurance plan.

The unions want app-based bike services banned because they call them illegal.

They are also asking for higher meter fares and a government-run app.

The strike will continue until the unions say their demands are addressed.
