Assamese Language Added to IIT Bombay's AI Platform BharatGen
Imagine a super-smart computer program, called BharatGen, that's learning to speak all the languages of India.
IIT Bombay is building this program.
They've teamed up with some groups in Guwahati to teach it Assamese!
These groups spent years collecting and saving Assamese books and writings.
Now, they're sharing all this information with BharatGen, so it can understand and speak Assamese.
This is a big step for the Assamese language in the digital world.
It's like giving Assamese a place in the future of AI, just like other major languages.
IIT Bombay's AI platform, BharatGen, will include Assamese language support.
Two Guwahati-based NGOs partnered with IIT Bombay for this initiative.
The collaboration involves digitizing and including two million pages of Assamese content.
BharatGen aims to build AI models for all of India's 22 scheduled languages.
Assamese will be the 10th language added to BharatGen.
