HDFC Bank is looking for a new leader.

Two people are believed to be under consideration: Kaizad Bharucha and K Balasubramanian.

Bharucha has worked at HDFC Bank for many years.

Balasubramanian has worked at Citi for about three decades.

The bank must get permission from the Reserve Bank of India before appointing one of them.

The current chief, Sashidhar Jagdishan, decided not to seek another term.

The bank’s board approved sending two names to the central bank for consideration.

It is also adding another senior director role to help prepare future leaders.
