MCA Seeks Land for Women's Cricket Academy in Mumbai
The people in charge of cricket in Mumbai want to build a special school just for girls who play cricket.
They have asked the government for a piece of land in the Mumbai area.
This school would have everything the girls need, like places to sleep, practice fields, gyms, and even help with injuries.
Right now, the girls have to travel really far for practices, which is tiring.
This new school would make it easier for them to train and get better at cricket, especially after India's women's team did so well in the World Cup.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has formally requested land from the Maharashtra government to build a women's cricket academy.
The proposed academy would be residential and located within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
MCA President Ajinkya Naik submitted the request to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The academy aims to provide comprehensive facilities and centralize training to address current travel challenges for female players.
This initiative follows India's recent success in the Women's ODI World Cup, aiming to further boost women's cricket.
