Madhya Pradesh Orders FIR Rights Notice Boards At Stations
Madhya Pradesh Police has told all police stations to put up special notice boards.
The notices will explain what people can do if police do not register their FIR.
A person can send a written complaint to the superintendent of police.
The complaint can be sent by post.
This means people do not have to keep returning to the same police station for help.
The police have also given special protection to elderly people, women, disabled people and seriously ill people.
These people should usually give investigation statements at a place convenient for them, including their homes.
They may still give a statement at a police station if they choose to do so.
Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters ordered every police station to display notices about unregistered FIR complaints.
People whose FIR is not registered can submit a written complaint to the superintendent of police by post.
