Congress Demands CBI Probe Over MP Education Irregularities
The Congress Party in Madhya Pradesh is very worried about the school system.
They say that even though the government has spent a lot more money on education, fewer children are going to school.
They also say that the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, which gives food to children, has fewer kids getting meals now.
The Congress leader, Jitu Patwari, thinks this is very strange and wants the CBI to investigate.
He also mentioned that many schools don't have enough teachers, especially for important subjects like Math, Science, and English.
Even the Union Education Minister said that many children in Madhya Pradesh are not getting enough nutritious food.
The Congress Party wants to know where all the extra money is going and why so many children are not in school.
Congress alleges gross irregularities in Madhya Pradesh's school education department and Mid-Day Meal Scheme.
Number of children in government and private schools decreased by more than 50 lakh in the past eight years.
Education budget increased nearly five times between 2018 and 2025.
Mid-Day Meal Scheme enrollment decreased from 1.60 crore in 2018-19 to 1.40 crore in 2024-25.
