Ashish Kacholia Stock Hits 20% Upper Circuit Post-Split and Bonus
Imagine a company decides to give you more shares and also make each share smaller.
First, for every share you own, they'll give you another one, so you have double the shares.
This is a stock split.
Second, they give you four extra shares for every one you already have as a bonus.
So, if you started with 50 shares, after the split you'd have 100.
Then, with the bonus, you'd get 400 more shares, making your total 500.
This makes the price for each tiny share look much lower.
The company did this so more people can easily buy and sell their shares.
Even though you have many more shares, the total value of your investment usually stays the same right after these changes.
Fineotex Chemical's stock surged 20% to an upper circuit on Friday, trading ex-record for its stock split and bonus issue.
The company approved a 1:2 stock split, dividing shares of ₹2 face value into two shares of ₹1 face value.
A 4:1 bonus issue was also declared, granting four bonus shares of ₹1 each for every existing share.
An investor holding 50 shares would end up with 500 shares after both corporate actions (100 post-split + 400 bonus).
Ace investor Ashish Kacholia holds a 2.62% stake in Fineotex Chemical.
