Indore: Government Power Connections Switch to Prepaid Model
The Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company is changing how government buildings pay for electricity.
Instead of getting billed after using power, they're switching to a prepaid system.
This new system offers a small discount of 25 paise per unit.
So far, over 3,000 connections have been converted.
Before the switch, the company makes sure any old bills are paid and gets a deposit to cover two months of electricity.
Some important services, like hospitals and water supply, are not part of this change.
The company is checking to see how well the new system is working.
