Russian missile strike kills two at Mittal's Ukraine steel plant
On a Sunday night, a big missile from Russia hit a huge steel factory in a city called Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine.
The factory is called ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, and it is owned by a very rich man from India named Lakshmi Mittal.
The missile hurt two people so badly that they died, and 13 other workers were hurt.
The factory makes steel, which is a strong metal used to build things.
The missile damaged the parts of the factory that make power and melt metal, so the factory had to stop making steel for a while.
Firefighters, rescuers, doctors, and safety workers came to help the injured people.
The factory was also hit by a Russian missile in 2022, and one worker died then too.
The company says the factory is a civilian place, not a military target, and it is sad and angry about the attack.
Right now, experts are checking how much damage was done and when the factory can start working again.
This is part of a big war between Russia and Ukraine, and both sides keep attacking each other's important buildings.
A Russian missile strike hit the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih steel plant in central Ukraine on the night of Sunday (16), killing two people and injuring 13.
The plant, owned by Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal, partially halted production after the attack damaged its main energy and blast furnace facilities.
The company initially reported one death before confirming a second victim was found during search and rescue operations.
The steelworks was previously hit by a Russian missile strike in 2022, when a rolling shop was destroyed and an employee was killed.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih condemned the attack, stressing the facility is civilian industrial infrastructure, and said specialists are assessing damage and restoration options.
