Chhavi Mittal Undergoes Surgery After Tamoxifen-Linked Fibroid Growth

Chhavi Mittal recently had surgery to remove a growth called a fibroid from her uterus.

She is a breast cancer survivor.

She said the fibroid grew quickly while she was taking a medicine called Tamoxifen.

Mittal said she was irritated by having to recover and rebuild her strength again.

She also said she was not afraid.

A doctor explained that fibroids are common.

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that come from the muscle of the uterus.

Some women have no symptoms, and not every fibroid needs surgery.

However, doctors say fibroids should still be taken seriously.
