Union Minister Criticises Telangana Bonalu Funding
Bandi Sanjay Kumar, a Union Minister, said the Telangana government gave only 20 crore rupees to the Bonalu festival, which many Hindus celebrate, while giving 33 crore to the Muslim festival of Ramzan.
He said the money was not enough and that people had to stand in long lines without water.
He called the difference unfair and asked the state to give money based on how many people celebrate each festival.
He also mentioned a comment by the state chief minister that he thought the Congress party was biased against Hindus.
He wants all festivals to be treated equally.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized Telangana for allocating ₹20 crore to Bonalu while giving ₹33 crore to Ramzan.
He highlighted inadequate facilities at Bonalu celebrations, including long queues and lack of drinking water.
Bandi Sanjay called the funding disparity discriminatory and urged the state to allocate funds proportionate to the 80% Hindu population.
He questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s remarks linking Congress to Muslims, implying bias against Hindus.
The minister appealed for unity among Hindus and for equal treatment of all festivals under Congress rule.
