HYDRAA Celebrates Kite Festivals at Restored Hyderabad Lakes
HYDRAA, an organization in Hyderabad, has been working to clean up and restore lakes in the city.
One of these lakes, Nallacheruvu, used to be dirty and small, but HYDRAA cleaned it up, made it bigger, and turned it into a nice place for people to visit.
They even held a kite festival there to celebrate.
The lake is now 30 acres big, and people can go there to fly kites, walk, and do yoga.
HYDRAA plans to restore more lakes in the future to help with flooding and make more clean water available.
HYDRAA organized kite festivals at restored lakes in Hyderabad to celebrate their transformation into vibrant community spaces.
Nallacheruvu Lake in Kukatpally was restored from a polluted 16-acre waterbody to a clean 30-acre recreational spot.
HYDRAA plans to reclaim 14 more lakes to address urban flooding and increase groundwater levels.
The restoration of Nallacheruvu Lake included removing encroachments and silt, increasing its depth to prevent flooding.
The lake now offers amenities like free cycling tracks, yoga spaces, and other activities for visitors.
