Maoist Operative with ₹17 Lakh Bounty Surrenders in Chhattisgarh
A woman named Kamala Sodi, who was an important member of a group called Maoists and had a big reward on her head, gave herself up to the police in a part of India called Chhattisgarh.
She had been part of this group for about 14 years and was involved in planning attacks.
Kamala decided to stop being a Maoist because she liked the government's plan that helps people who leave the group start new lives.
The police and government are also working hard to improve the area with things like roads and mobile towers.
She received some money right away, and she will get more help to rejoin normal life.
Officials hope her surrender will encourage other Maoists to do the same, believing that talking and developing the area is better than fighting.
