Pune Society Accuses Cantonment Board of Negligence
A housing society in Pune called Clover Centre is upset because the Pune Cantonment Board stopped collecting their garbage.
The Board wants the society to pay new fees for this service, which they have been providing for free for many years.
The society says the garbage is piling up and causing problems, but the Board says the society needs to pay the fees first.
The society has asked the government to help solve this problem.
They also mentioned that the Board is not cleaning the drains and there is an illegal juice stall outside their building.
Clover Centre Cooperative Housing Society in Pune alleges negligence by the Pune Cantonment Board after garbage collection was abruptly stopped in October 2025.
The society claims the Board is demanding exorbitant additional payments for garbage collection, which was previously provided for free.
Residents allege that Cantonment workers have been dumping garbage from other localities at the society's entrance and that drains are deliberately left unclean.
The society has written to the Maharashtra Health Department seeking intervention and has highlighted the presence of an allegedly illegal juice stall outside the building.
The Pune Cantonment Board issued a demand notice for ₹1,03,750, citing Solid Waste Management Rules, and claims the society is the only one refusing to pay the segregation charges.
