J&K Reviews Data Strategy for Better Public Services
The government of Jammu and Kashmir is working on a new plan to make public services better and easier to use.
They want to create a system where different government departments can share information securely.
This way, people won't have to give the same information over and over again.
The plan also includes connecting the system that registers births and deaths with banks and other departments.
This will help people get benefits and services more quickly, like insurance money or school admissions.
The goal is to make everything more efficient and transparent.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed a Data Management Strategy to improve public service delivery in Jammu and Kashmir.
The strategy aims to create a secure, interoperable, and citizen-centric digital governance ecosystem.
The initiative seeks to eliminate duplication of records and enhance transparency in government services.
The strategy includes five strategic pillars: Data Governance and Standards, Base Registries and Unique Identifiers, Interoperability and Harmonisation, Data Security and Privacy, and Institutional Capacity and Coordination.
Proposals include integrating the Civil Registration System with J&K Bank and other departments to streamline welfare benefits and services.
