Metro Blue Line faces delays, cancellations
The Metro Blue Line in Kolkata, which used to be very punctual, is now having a lot of problems.
Trains are often late or get canceled, and they are very crowded, making it hard for people to get on and off.
This started happening after a part of the line at New Garia had to be closed because of some cracks.
The Metro authorities are trying to fix the problems, but it's been tough.
They are thinking about going back to an old system to help with the crowds, but it might take some time.
People who use the Metro every day are finding it very difficult to get to work and school on time.
Metro Blue Line trains are frequently delayed and canceled, causing inconvenience to commuters.
Overcrowding is a major issue, with trains packed even during non-peak hours.
The disruptions began after operations were suspended at Kavi Subhash (New Garia) due to platform pillar cracks on July 28.
Metro authorities are considering a return to the old system for track switching to manage the rush.
A new timetable is being prepared, and the design for the new platform at New Garia is expected by the end of the year.
