Gurugram Hit-and-Run Video Fuels Dispute Over Intentional Crash
A car hit a woman riding a motorcycle in Gurugram.
The woman, who uses the name Siya online, fell and slid along the road but reportedly suffered only minor injuries.
Videos from her motorcycle and another rider’s helmet camera recorded parts of the incident.
Siya says the car followed the bikers and hit her on purpose after the driver asked her to stop.
The accused driver, Kalyan Bainsla, says the crash was accidental.
He says he lost control near a U-turn while many bikers were overtaking and slowing down near his car.
He also says he drove away because he feared the bikers would attack his family.
Siya questions why he did not stop to check whether she was hurt.
Police are examining the videos and investigating the conflicting accounts.
A white sedan struck Siya’s Aprilia RS 457 on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, throwing her onto the road and dragging the motorcycle several metres.
A fellow rider’s helmet-camera video appears to show the car moving toward the motorcycle before the collision and leaving afterward.
Siya, also identified in reports as Shivani Chauhan, alleges the car followed the bikers, its occupants behaved aggressively, and the crash was deliberate.
Accused driver Kalyan Bainsla admits the collision was his fault but says he lost control near a U-turn while trying to avoid or respond to bikers.
Gurugram Police took suo motu cognisance, cited Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 281 and 125, formed three teams, and reportedly detained two associates.
