Madras High Court Summons Chennai Police Commissioner
A judge in Madras asked the top police officer in Chennai to come to court.
The police are being asked why they didn't do anything about a complaint from a person who owns an apartment.
This person said they were treated badly because of their caste.
They reported this to the police and also to a special group that helps people from certain communities.
Even though this special group told the police to look into it, the police haven't done anything yet.
The court wants the police chief to explain why.
Madras High Court summoned the Greater Chennai City Commissioner of Police.
The summons is regarding a complaint under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act of 1989.
A flat owner filed a complaint against other owners in an apartment complex.
The Nolambur police allegedly failed to act on the complaint.
The National Commission for the Scheduled Castes forwarded the complaint to the Commissionerate.
