Last-Minute Vande Bharat Tickets Now Available
Indian Railways has introduced a new feature for Vande Bharat Express trains, letting passengers book tickets up to 15 minutes before the train arrives at their boarding station.
This change is for eight trains operated by Southern Railway.
This means if you're boarding mid-route, you can now get a ticket if there are empty seats.
The booking happens through the IRCTC website or app, and it should make things easier for last-minute travelers.
Passengers can now book tickets on select Vande Bharat Express trains up to 15 minutes before arrival at their station.
This new service is available on eight Vande Bharat Express services run by the Southern Railway zone.
The change is part of a revamped Passenger Reservation System (PRS).
Previously, current booking was only permitted until departure from the train's originating station.
Unconfirmed waitlisted tickets are auto-canceled shortly before departure to free up seats for immediate booking.
