DRDO Tests High-Speed Fighter Jet Escape System
The DRDO, which is India's defense research group, did a big test to make sure fighter pilots can safely escape from their planes if there's an emergency.
They used a special rocket sled to go very fast, 800 km/h, to copy the conditions pilots face in the air.
The test checked if the canopy (the top part of the plane) opens correctly, if the seat that shoots the pilot out works right, and if the parachute opens to bring the pilot down safely.
This test is important because it helps India make its own safety systems instead of buying them from other countries.
More tests will be done to make sure the system works perfectly in all situations.
DRDO successfully tested a high-speed escape system for fighter pilots at 800 km/h.
The test was conducted at the RTRS facility in Chandigarh to simulate extreme conditions.
The system validated canopy severance, ejection sequencing, and full aircrew recovery.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the success of the test.
The test aims to develop indigenous pilot safety technologies to reduce dependence on foreign components.
