Former CPI(M) MLA Aisha Potty Joins Congress
Aisha Potty, who was a leader in the CPI(M) party for over a decade, has decided to join the Congress party.
She represented the Kottarakkara area in the Kerala Assembly for three terms.
Aisha said she felt ignored in the CPI(M) and couldn't agree with some of their views.
She also mentioned she was ready to face any criticism for her decision.
Aisha is a lawyer and has always worked with people from different backgrounds.
She didn't confirm if she would run for elections again but said she wasn't joining for power.
Aisha Potty, a former CPI(M) MLA, joined the Congress party, ending her over decade-long association with the Left party.
Potty represented the Kottarakkara Assembly constituency for three consecutive terms from 2006 to 2016.
She cited feeling neglected and misaligned with several CPI(M) positions as her reasons for switching parties.
Potty emphasized she had no objections towards the CPI(M) cadres and did not wish to make negative remarks about the party.
She indicated she was prepared to face criticism and cyberbullying following her decision to join Congress.
