PNGRB seeks regulation of gas fees
The PNGRB, which currently only regulates the fees for natural gas pipelines, wants to also control the prices of gas, the charges for turning it from liquid to gas, and the taxes on it.
Right now, these costs are not regulated, and the PNGRB thinks they should be to make things fairer and more organized.
They also mention that taxes like VAT, GST, and custom duties add to the cost of gas, and these should be looked at too.
PNGRB currently regulates only pipeline tariffs for natural gas.
Proposal to extend oversight to gas prices and regasification charges.
Taxation (VAT/GST, custom duty) is another major cost component.
Need for statutory provisions and administrative oversight across the gas value chain.
