Indian Reservoirs Storage Dips Below 90%
The big water tanks that store water for India have less than 90% of their usual water for the fifth week in a row.
This is because it didn't rain enough last week.
The total water in these tanks is 155.226 billion cubic meters, which is 84.56% of what they can hold.
Some places like the west have more water, but others like the east have less.
The weather people say it might not rain much in the next two weeks, so the water levels might go down even more.
Storage in 166 major Indian reservoirs at 84.56% capacity, below 90% for 5th week.
Post-monsoon rainfall 55% deficient last week, overall 20% surplus since October 1.
Western region storage above 90%, eastern region below 80%.
Northern region storage at 80%, with Himachal dropping below 75%.
IMD projects no major weather events in the next fortnight, likely leading to further drop in storage.
