Motilal Oswal Financial Services Reports 68% Profit Drop in Q2
Motilal Oswal, a financial company, didn't make as much money in the last three months.
Their profit went down a lot because their investments in the treasury business lost value, and people didn't trade stocks as much, which usually makes them money from fees.
They also announced some new people will be joining their board, like from the founding families and some experienced professionals.
Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL) reported a 68% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹362 crore for the September quarter.
Consolidated revenue decreased by 35% year-on-year to ₹1,849 crore.
The treasury investment segment incurred a loss of ₹62.29 crore due to mark-to-market valuation losses on its investments.
Revenue from the broking business also slowed down to ₹560 crore from ₹637 crore a year ago.
The company announced the appointment of Pratik Oswal, Vaibhav Agrawal, Conrad D’Souza, and Ashok Kumar P Kothari to its board.
