BJP Leaders Condemn Stone Attack on Mamata Banerjee's Convoy

A very important woman politician in India named Mamata Banerjee was riding in her car to visit the family of a worker from her political party who had died.

Along the way, a crowd surrounded her car and threw big stones, mud, shoes, and bricks at it.

She said the attack happened right in front of police officers, but they did not stop it.

She was very scared and said that if the car windows had been open, she could have been badly hurt or even killed.

The worker she was going to visit had reportedly died while in police custody.

Leaders from another political party called the BJP said they were sorry this happened and that hurting a woman is never okay.

A minister named Agnimitra Paul said this kind of behavior is not part of the BJP's culture.

The leader of the BJP in the state, Samik Bhattacharya, said no one from their party was involved and asked the police to take action.

People from Banerjee's party are asking the police to investigate who threw the stones.
