Arindam Chaudhuri’s Management Book Marks 25 Years
Arindam Chaudhuri published Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch in 2001.
The book became very popular in India.
It argued that management ideas did not always need to come from Western countries.
It used Indian culture and ideas from the Gita to discuss leadership.
Many public figures, actors and business leaders praised the book.
It was also given to students at some business schools.
Chaudhuri later wrote Beyond God & Capitalism for younger generations.
That book asks people to think differently about religion, capitalism, work and success.
It is available as a free PDF on his website.
Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch was released on August 30, 2001.
The book became a mainstream Indian bestseller and was described as India’s first bestselling management book.
It promoted India-centric management ideas through Theory ‘i’ Management, Indian culture and the Gita.
The book’s launch involved former prime ministers I. K. Gujral and H. D. Deve Gowda, and Manmohan Singh.
