US Court Permanently Blocks Trump's $100K H-1B Visa Fee

A federal court has permanently blocked a $100,000 fee that was introduced by President Trump for the H-1B visa program.

This program allows companies to hire foreign workers in specialized fields.

The fee was meant to stop companies from replacing American workers with cheaper foreign labor.

However, immigration advocates saw it as a way to make it harder for people to come to the U.S. legally.

The court decided the fee was not lawful, and so far, very few companies have paid it.

The fee did not apply to foreign nationals already in the U.S. on student visas.
