8th Pay Commission: Salary Hikes Expected by 2026-27
Imagine the government is like a big company, and it's going to give its workers a raise!
This is called the 8th Pay Commission.
It means the lowest-paid workers might get their salaries increased from 18,000 rupees to 30,000 rupees a month.
This will cost a lot of money, but it could help people buy more things.
The government is still working on the details, but the goal is to make sure government workers get paid fairly.
A group representing the workers has also made suggestions, like how much everyone should get paid and what benefits they should have.
Kotak Institutional Equities projects the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) to roll out by late 2026 or early 2027.
The minimum salary level is expected to increase from ₹18,000 to ₹30,000 per month, with a fitment factor of 1.8.
