Meghalaya CEO Warns Inactive Parties of Deregistration
The election head in Meghalaya is telling four political parties they might be kicked off the official list.
These parties haven't had any candidates in elections since 2019.
They have to explain why by September 3rd.
If they don't, they could be removed.
This is part of a bigger plan to get rid of parties that aren't doing anything.
The government is doing this because these parties aren't following the rules about joining elections.
Many other inactive parties have already been removed across the country.
Meghalaya CEO issued notices to four inactive political parties.
The parties include KHNAM, MDP, NESDP, and RDSC.
They haven't contested elections since 2019.
Parties must explain non-participation by September 3rd.
Deregistration is possible if they fail to comply.
