Dhankhar Resigned a Year Ago

A year ago, Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was the Vice-President of India, resigned from his position.

He was supposed to serve until 2027 but left after just three years.

The Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that Dhankhar was forced to resign because he spoke up about the problems farmers were facing and the government's lack of concern.

However, Dhankhar officially said he resigned for medical reasons.

He was not given a formal farewell by the members of the Rajya Sabha.

This makes him the third Vice-President to resign before completing his term, but the others did so to run for President.
