Madhya Pradesh Medical Interns Protest for Higher Stipends

Madhya Pradesh Medical Interns Protest for Higher Stipends

Medical interns in Bhopal are asking for more money each month.

They currently receive Rs 14,337 and want Rs 30,000.

They say medical education costs about Rs 1 lakh a year.

The interns also want compensation for colleagues they say were hurt when police used water cannons.

Their protest blocked traffic and affected patients at Hamidia Hospital.

Government officials said they were discussing the demands.

An inquiry will examine how the police handled Monday’s protest.

More talks were expected later on Tuesday.
