Goyal Highlights India’s $20 Trillion PPP Economy
Piyush Goyal said India’s economy looks different depending on how it is measured.
Using regular currency comparisons, it is about $4 trillion.
Using purchasing power parity, which considers what money can buy in each country, it is around $20 trillion.
He said this makes India the third-largest economy by that measure.
India is also working on trade agreements with many countries and regions.
These agreements could help Indian companies sell more goods and services around the world.
Goyal said India’s demand for computer chips may become very large in the next five years.
He also emphasized artificial intelligence, startups, young people and privately launched rockets.
