India Leads Asia-Pacific Data Centre Growth Outside China

India Leads Asia-Pacific Data Centre Growth Outside China

India has become the biggest data centre market in Asia-Pacific apart from China.

Data centres are large buildings that store and process digital information.

India’s working data centre capacity has grown four times in six years.

More facilities are already being built, and many others have received approval.

Maharashtra currently has the largest share of India’s capacity.

Several other states are expected to support future growth.

Indian companies and global technology firms have announced large investments.

Most of the planned spending is aimed at large AI campuses.

These facilities will need much more electricity, although some companies are expected to use more renewable power.
