FTC Expands Amazon Prime Settlement Refunds for More Users

FTC Expands Amazon Prime Settlement Refunds for More Users

Amazon agreed to pay $2.5 billion after the FTC said it enrolled people in Prime without permission and made cancellations difficult.

Some of that money is being returned to consumers.

A new court order allows more Prime users to receive refunds automatically.

People who used 11 to 20 Prime benefits in a year may now qualify.

Payments for this group are expected to start on October 1, 2026.

Consumers do not need to fill out a new form or make a new claim.

Payments may arrive through PayPal, Venmo, or a mailed check.

Some people who already received money could get up to $149 more.

The FTC says nobody should ask consumers to pay money to receive a refund.
