REC Sanctions Record Rs. 7,500 Crore for Brookfield's Hybrid Renewable Project
Imagine a big company called Brookfield wants to build a giant farm that makes electricity from the sun and wind.
This farm will be in a place called Kurnool in India.
The government's Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is helping Brookfield pay for this big project.
They are giving Brookfield a lot of money, Rs 7,500 crore, which is a record amount for a private project!
This money will help build the solar panels and wind turbines.
This project is part of Brookfield's larger plan to build even more clean energy places in Andhra Pradesh.
The government is happy because this means more jobs and safer electricity for everyone.
REC has sanctioned Rs 7,500 crore for Brookfield's hybrid renewable energy project in Kurnool.
The project will have a total capacity of 1,040 MW, comprising 640 MW wind and 400 MW solar power.
This is the largest single REC sanction ever granted to a private sector project.
The project is developed by Evren, a clean-energy platform by Brookfield and Axis Energy.
