Gadkari Gives Initial Approval for Four-Laning 71-Kilometre Highway

A road called National Highway 42 runs through Anantapur district.

Right now, the stretch being discussed has two lanes.

Some parts have sharp turns and pass through villages and homes, and officials have identified 10 accident-prone spots.

Andhra Pradesh minister Payyavula Keshav asked Union minister Nitin Gadkari to make the road four lanes wide.

Gadkari agreed to the idea in principle.

A wider road is expected to help vehicles move more easily and improve safety.

The articles do not give a start date for the work.
