DK Aruna Backs Padayatra Seeking Pending Palamuru Irrigation Projects
Farmers and local leaders held a 20-kilometre walk to ask for unfinished irrigation projects to be completed.
The walk went from Ulpara to Kalwakurthy.
BJP MP DK Aruna attended its closing programme on Sunday.
She supported the farmers’ request.
She said water should not be diverted to Nalgonda through the Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Instead, she said Nalgonda could receive water from the Nagarjuna Sagar project.
She also asked for the Palamuru-Rangareddy project and other schemes to be completed.
Her main concern was making sure Palamuru farmers receive their promised irrigation water.

Aruna demanded stopping the proposed diversion of water to Nalgonda through the Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme.
She called for completing projects including Nettampadu, Bhima, Koilsagar, Kalwakurthy and Palamuru-Rangareddy.
Aruna urged the government to fund pending works and protect Palamuru farmers’ water share.
