OTP Mandatory for Tatkal Tickets at Counters
The Indian Railways is making it mandatory for passengers to use a one-time password (OTP) when booking Tatkal tickets at reservation counters.
This new rule started as a pilot on November 17 with a few trains and will soon be applied to all trains.
Passengers will receive an OTP on their mobile phones and must verify it to confirm their ticket.
This change aims to stop people from misusing the Tatkal system and make it easier for real passengers to book tickets.
Earlier, the Railways also introduced Aadhaar verification for online Tatkal bookings and reserved general tickets to ensure fair access.
OTP verification is now mandatory for booking Tatkal tickets at railway reservation counters.

Passengers receive an OTP on their mobile number provided in the reservation form.
