Delhi H1N1 Cases Rise; ICMR Says No New Strain

Delhi has reported many cases of a flu called H1N1 this year.

Officials counted 1,777 H1N1 cases through August 20.

There were 2,602 seasonal influenza cases when other flu types were included.

Scientists said the virus is not a new strain.

They said it has been circulating in India since 2025.

Most people recover with rest and appropriate care.

Young children, older people, pregnant women and people with health problems may become more seriously ill.

People should contact a doctor if symptoms get worse, last too long or cause breathing problems.

Washing hands, using masks in crowded places and avoiding close contact with sick people can help limit spread.
