Jagan Urges Naidu to Resolve Andhra Junior Doctors’ Strike

Junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh are protesting about their stipends and other work-related demands.

They work in government hospitals and medical colleges.

About 9,000 doctors from 19 colleges are involved, according to the report.

Their association wants stipends raised by 30 percent.

The doctors have stopped working in some emergency areas, intensive care units and operation theatres.

This has made it harder for some patients to receive care.

Hospital managers have used senior teachers and assistant surgeons to help run important wards.

Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is asking Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to meet the doctors and settle the dispute.
