Barapullah Phase III Corridor Set To Open September 29
Delhi is preparing to open a new road corridor called Barapullah Phase III.
Amit Shah is scheduled to open it on September 29, 2026.
The corridor will connect Mayur Vihar Phase I with Sarai Kale Khan without traffic signals along the route.
It will also connect to roads leading toward AIIMS and South Delhi.
This may give drivers, cyclists and pedestrians another way to travel between eastern and southern Delhi.
The corridor joins the older Barapullah corridor, making the combined route nearly nine kilometres long.
Construction began in 2015 after the project was approved in 2014.
It was supposed to be finished in 2017 but was delayed and became more expensive.
The project includes a bridge over the Yamuna, two ramps, a cycle track and walking facilities.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to inaugurate the corridor on September 29.
The project will provide a signal-free connection between Mayur Vihar Phase I and Sarai Kale Khan.
The route will link with the existing Barapullah corridor, extending combined connectivity toward AIIMS and South Delhi for nearly nine kilometres.
Approved in 2014 and started in 2015, the project missed its 2017 target and has a revised cost of approximately Rs 1,635 crore.
The completed infrastructure includes two ramps, an extra-dosed Yamuna bridge, a dedicated cycle track and pedestrian-friendly facilities.
