Malaysia Drops Appeal Against Rosmah Mansor's Acquittal
Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, was found not guilty of money laundering and tax evasion charges.
The government decided not to challenge this decision in court because important people who could have helped prove the case are no longer available.
Rosmah is still facing other legal issues, including a case about a big solar project.
Her husband, Najib, is already in jail for other crimes related to a big financial scandal called 1MDB.
The court will soon decide if Najib can stay at home instead of jail and will also give a verdict in his biggest trial about 1MDB.
Malaysian prosecutors dropped their appeal against Rosmah Mansor's acquittal in a money laundering and tax evasion case.
The decision was made because key witnesses needed to prove the charges have died.
Rosmah is still facing an ongoing trial for soliciting and receiving bribes in a solar power project.
Her husband, Najib Razak, is serving a six-year jail sentence for graft and money laundering.
Upcoming court decisions include Najib's potential house arrest and a major 1MDB trial verdict.
