Chhattisgarh IPS officer Rahul Bansal faces bribery charge

A police officer in India is accused of taking a big bribe to stop investigating a large online cheating scheme.

People were tricked into losing money through fake trading websites.

The scheme was so big that police say it involved many states and even other countries.

Police found 38 fake websites that about 19,340 people used.

Very large amounts of money moved through these websites, often turned into cryptocurrency or sent to other countries.

The police officer, Rahul Bansal, says he did nothing wrong and trusts the court to decide the truth.

The top police boss of Chhattisgarh gave a report to the court about the accusations.

Some suspected leaders of the scheme have run away, and the court and police are still working on the case.
