Kerala Mayor Objects to E-Bus Use Outside City
In Kerala's capital, Thiruvananthapuram, the new BJP Mayor VV Rajesh is upset because some electric buses that belong to the city are being used outside the city.
These buses are part of a special project to provide cheap and clean public transport within the city.
The Mayor found one of these buses parked far away in a place called Neyyattinkara.
He said this is not right and such things will not be allowed.
But the ruling CPI-M party criticized the Mayor's decision, saying he is making a big deal out of nothing.
This comes after another argument between a BJP councillor and a CPI-M MLA about who should use an office in a city building.
BJP Mayor VV Rajesh objected to Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation's e-buses being operated outside city limits.
Mayor found an e-bus parked at a KSRTC garage in Neyyattinkara, outside the city limits.
Mayor asserted that such practices would not be tolerated under his administration.
CPI-M criticized the Mayor's decision to recall the buses, dismissing his remarks.
The e-bus project involves KSRTC operating 113 electric buses within city limits under the Smart City Mission.
