Karnataka boosts local EV manufacturing with Yamaha partnership
The government of Karnataka, India, is very excited about making electric motorcycles locally.
They recently gave a special electric bike, called the Yamaha EC-06, to a big bike company called Yamaha.
This bike was made by a local company called River Mobility.
The minister, MB Patil, said this is a big step for the state because it helps the environment and creates jobs.
The bikes have strong batteries that can last a long time and come with a 10-year warranty.
The factory can make about 2,000 bikes every year.
The government is also putting up many charging stations for electric vehicles all over Karnataka.
Karnataka's Heavy and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil handed over the locally manufactured Yamaha EC-06 electric motorcycle to Yamaha India.
The bike is produced by Karnataka-based River Mobility, marking a milestone in the state's electric vehicle ecosystem.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 2,000 high-quality electric motorcycles.
The bikes feature locally manufactured batteries with a 10-year warranty and a lifespan of up to one lakh kilometers.
