ED Attaches Assets in Multiple Cases
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bhopal has been very busy.
They attached assets worth Rs 5 crore belonging to late IAS officer Arvind Joshi and his family.
These assets include houses, farmlands, and a resort.
The ED thinks these properties were bought with money that wasn't properly declared, which is against the law.
The case started in 2010 when tax officials found a lot of cash in their home.
The ED says the couple's assets were much more than what they should have had based on their income.
The couple was dismissed from service in 2014.
The ED is investigating this as a money laundering case.
Additionally, the ED helped return properties worth ₹45 crore to a bank that was cheated by a company called Jagdamba AMW Automotives.
The company took loans using fake documents and didn't deliver the vehicles.
The ED also filed a case against a former school principal, Santosh Kumar Sharma, for having more assets than he should have based on his income.
ED attached Rs 5 crore worth of assets in a money laundering case against late IAS officer Arvind Joshi.
Assets include residential plots, agricultural lands, and a resort in Bhopal.
ED facilitated restitution of properties worth ₹45 crore to a nationalized bank in a bank fraud case involving Jagdamba AMW Automotives.
ED filed a prosecution complaint against former principal Santosh Kumar Sharma for disproportionate assets.
Investigations revealed fraudulent activities, including forging documents and diverting loan amounts for personal gain.
