Metro Crane Breakdown at Juhu Circle Triggers Massive Traffic Backlog

Metro Crane Breakdown at Juhu Circle Triggers Massive Traffic Backlog

A big machine called a crane was helping build a new Metro train in Mumbai.

Early on Thursday morning, the crane stopped working.

It broke down right at Juhu Circle, a busy place.

Because the crane was blocking the road, cars and buses could not move easily.

Lots and lots of vehicles waited in a long line, almost 2 kilometers long.

The police put out a message asking people to use different roads.

Workers had been putting heavy beams called girders in place the night before.

The crane needed a spare part to be fixed.

Luckily, nobody was hurt.

By 1:30 pm, workers removed parts of the crane, and one lane of the road opened again.
