1220 Inscription Records Offerings at Ramanujacharya Shrine

Ramanujacharya was a religious teacher connected with Tirumala.

Historical accounts say he helped organize worship and festivals at the temple.

He is credited with arranging four streets around the temple for processions.

Temple traditions also connect him with songs, special ceremonies, and food offerings.

Jeeyars were given responsibilities for overseeing religious practices.

An inscription at his shrine is dated to 1220 AD.

It says lamps and flowers were offered there.

Some customs linked to Ramanujacharya are still followed at temples in Tirumala, Tirupati, and Tiruchanur.
