Machado Presents Nobel to Trump

US President Donald Trump met with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado at the White House.

Machado presented her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump, even though the Nobel Institute says the prize can't be transferred.

Trump has been working with Delcy Rodríguez, who is now acting president of Venezuela, instead of supporting Machado.

Machado's political party is believed to have won the 2024 elections, but the results were rejected by former President Nicolás Maduro, who was captured by US forces.

Trump has praised Rodríguez and is focused on getting Venezuelan oil.

Machado has been careful not to upset Trump, even offering to share her Nobel Prize with him.

Trump has said nice things about Machado, but he also said she might not be the best leader for Venezuela.

Machado has been hiding for a while but recently appeared in Norway to receive her Nobel Prize.

Trump is more focused on getting Venezuelan oil and has praised Rodríguez, who is now in charge.

The US has also seized several oil tankers and finalized a $500 million oil sale.
